What I’m up to now
First and foremost I’m trying to be a great dad to Preston (5) and Evelina (2). At the moment Preston is really into baseball and LEGOs, so we play catch, practice batting, and create new types of vehicles together. Evie on the other hand loves to sing and dance and explore the outdoors. There is no dirt, rock, stick, leaf, bug, or animal that she won’t pick up for closer inspection.
Together with my wife Jaclyn and dog Lucy we are still getting to know our new home in Ohio where we moved from Chicago a little over a year ago. While I miss my doughnuts and pizza I already love Chagrin Falls, and it doesn’t hurt that it was the setting for Calvin & Hobbes, one of my all-time favorite creations.
I spend my days designing software for the healthcare industry with IBM Watson Health. Our products help clinicians understand their performance across a number of population health measures and identify opportunites for care management intervention.
I’m building a side business purely for the experience (and hopefully satisfaction!) of designing, producing, marketing, and selling my own product. It’s in stealth-mode for the time being, but I’ll share more details once it’s up and running.
I’m working to gain an understanding of software product design systems that goes deeper than generic user interface components. Currently interested in domain-driven design and reading Eric Evans’ pioneering book on the subject.
